I feel that when I finish this course, I will have a good grasp on the basics of Esperanto. My only complaint is that the dragging is painfully slow. It seems to get progressively slower as I keep the window open. It gets to the point where I accidentally initiate a drag instead of a click, then click somewhere else before it exits the drag. This confuses the program and causes a browser crash. My computer is fast and I run linŭ, if that information is of any help to you. This one minor issue aside, thank you for a high quality, interactive Esperanto tutorial. |
| 11 | derefed | 3 | Good at teaching how different pieces of Esperanto fit together. However, there are a few problems with the course, too: several examples don't provide literal translations and instead use translations that are made to sound good in English, which can confuse the learner; some of the exercises have typos; some of the translation explanations are cut off (esp., Lesson 26's explanation of "urben"); the software is horrendously slow, and requires that you refresh the page every few lessons so that it doesn't grind to a halt; the exercises aren't always checked for lots of variation, and sometimes even just a comma can make it say it's wrong. Besides all that though, the material is worth it. |
